Acupuncture and Complementary medicine helps you back onto your feet
We believe in addressing and treating your health holistically and naturally, thus enabling the body to not just be healed, but also be naturally strong, self-sustaining and balanced. Our goal is to work together with you to not only bring you back to balanced health, but also to prevent illness from occurring again. Thus, our focus is treatment from the root, balancing the entire wellness wheel, for continual health and wellness, whether through acupuncture or other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities.
In conjunction with the philosophy of our practice, we will teach and show you ways to optimize your own healing process and continual health. This may include diet therapy, acupressure, exercise, and other relaxation or treatment techniques that are best suited to your condition.
As your Vancouver acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine health care practitioner, we are here to guide, educate, inspire and motivate you. Your willing and active participation is part of this partnership, and will be the key to unlocking the door to your health. Your health is your path that you walk along. Red Tree Wellness is proud to use environmentally friendly products throughout the clinic! Some examples include using 100% recycled paper, pens and clipboards made from recycled plastic, energy saving machines and light bulbs, and business cards printed on 100% recycled paper using vegetable based inks. In keeping with the spirit of the Sequoia tree to which our clinic name is derived from, we are proud to continue to step lightly on the earth.
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that involves puncturing the skin with hair-thin needles at acupuncture points, to enhance the flow of Qi. Acupuncture is used to balance and keep the normal flow of energy unblocked, and restore health to the body and mind. Traditional Chinese medicine practices (e.g. acupuncture, herbs, diet, massage, cupping, moxibustion, exercises, etc.) all are intended to improve the flow of Qi.
In Chinese Medicine, Winter is the season of hibernation and conservation. Plants shed their leaves, their sap descends and they stay in a dormant state until the Spring. Animals retreat into their dens for months at a time. Our bodies are also in tune with this seasonal cycle. We want to sleep longer, crave for warm hearty food and want to stay home more in the winter. This is perfectly natural. Go with the flow of nature - the sun rises late and sets early - adjust your sleeping patterns accordingly and rest more during the winter. Fresh fruits are not as readily available in the winter - this is nature's way of giving us a hint. Eating foods with a "cold" nature (raw foods, salads, iced drinks) impairs the immune and digestive system as it works harder to warm the body. Grains, beans and meat (foods easily stored in the winter) are recommended. Protect your body against the cold by bundling up and wearing a scarf.
